Thanks to my beloved TiVo, I now record the French evening news for the rare occasions when I actually have time to sit and watch TV. There is only one issue - TiVo is not accustomed to the rather untraditional timing of French television, which starts and stops programs at times other than the hour and half-hour.
The French news is followed by a short cooking program, during which French chefs whip together majestic creations using gorgeous, fresh ingredients. Each evening, I longingly watch and learn, step by step, how to create a sumptuous dish. Well, almost. TiVo generally cuts off the program at the second to last step of the recipe, leaving me forever in suspense.
