From a documentary on cable this evening:
"Kevin --- was a 48 year old bachelor from xxx, Texas. Kevin lived alone with his beloved pet cockatoo, Byrd, who Kevin had named after the basketball star, Larry Byrd."
Now, wouldn't you think that maybe Larry Byrd was not the only reason why one might think to name a bird Byrd?
