One of my favorite American holiday desserts. I'll be carrying some over to France, as fruitcake making is one of my family's holiday traditions.
N.B. - For those not familiar with fruitcake (for example, my Egyptian reader, who may no longer be reading as he does not appreciate my particularly vicious sense of humor), whether or not fruitcake is a tasty dessert is subject to much debate in the United States. Perhaps that is why fruitcake has also come to mean "crazy person."
